
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS - 2025 AGM (22 OCTOBER)

Late applications cannot be accepted under the ACCAN Constitution.
In the event more nominations than vacant positions are received an election will be held. Ballots will be available online from 29 September 2025, with the close of ballot occurring Tuesday, 20 October 2025, 4:00 pm AEST (Sydney).
NOTE: All candidates for the ACCAN Board are invited to prepare a statement of not more than three hundred (300) words for inclusion with the ballot papers. This statement should be submitted with the nomination form so it can be circulated to members with the ballot. Candidates are invited to address the specific criteria set out in the Call for Nominations but can also put forward any other considerations.
ACCAN is seeking nominations for Directors to fill five (5) vacancies on its Board.
In accordance with the ACCAN Constitution, the 2025-2026 ACCAN Board will consist of nine (9) members.1
Four (4) positions are continuing Directors from the 2024-2025 Board. Two (2) Directors are retiring from the Board having completed two full terms and are ineligible for re-election in 2025-26.
Three (3) Directors have completed their first term and are eligible for re-election. In accordance with Section 20 of the ACCAN Constitution, Board members are elected for a three-year term.
To ensure that the board has an appropriate skill balance, the Board is seeking nominations from candidates with professional skills and experience relating to:

Law and legal practice, including those with contemporary practicing experience;

Accounting and finance, including those with contemporary professional experience;

Governance in not-for-profit organisations.
To ensure that the board has an appropriate balance under the terms of the constitution and effectively represents all consumers, the Board is seeking nominations from directors with an understanding of the issues affecting:

Women or gender diverse consumers;
-
First Nations consumers;
-
Youth;
-
Small businesses.
Each nominee for the ACCAN Board MUST sign the nomination form and be accompanied by a signature from a proposer and seconder. In order for the nomination to be valid, the nominee, proposer and seconder must be individual members or representatives of voting organisational members of ACCAN. Associate members are ineligible to vote in ACCAN elections.
