Board Member

Dr Ron Ben-David is a Professorial Fellow at Monash Business School, where he writes and speaks on market, regulatory, and institutional reform with a focus on Australia’s consumer energy market. Recognised as one of the nation’s leading energy thinkers, he brings a strong reform-oriented perspective to ACCAN’s work on telecommunications and digital services policy.

Ron serves as Commissioner and Deputy Chair of the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission and sits on the boards of the ClimateWorks Centre, Consumer Policy Research Centre, and the Regulatory Policy Institute (A–NZ). He previously chaired the Essential Services Commission (Vic) from 2008 to 2019, leading major consumer-focused regulatory reforms.

He holds degrees in Optometry, Commerce (Hons), and Economics (PhD), and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors
