Social Impact Report - First Nations Device Bank
WorkVentures Ltd
This report shares findings from the First Nations Device Bank proof of concept, which tested whether donated and refurbished devices, training and community-led support can improve digital inclusion outcomes in First Nations communities.
The pilot demonstrated strong early promise, but found that meaningful digital inclusion for remote First Nations communities depends on more than device access alone. Impact is strongest when devices are combined with trusted local partners, culturally responsive co-design, practical training and ongoing support tailored to each community.
Key impacts of the project included:
505 devices distributed to remote First Nations communities
24 communities reached
34 organisations involved
2,210 individuals estimated to benefit
1,562 devices donated in total
1,057 devices sold to support the program
8,331 kg of e-waste saved from landfill
