Proposal to update telco customer equipment regulation

ACCAN recently submitted to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA)’s consultation on the proposal to update telco customer equipment regulation.


ACCAN supports the ACMA’s proposed amendments to the telecommunications customer equipment regulations.


Our submission recommended the ACMA:

  1. Extend the record-keeping timeframes about an item’s compliance to 7 years after the item is supplied in Australia.

  2. Implement a transition period of 6 months for limited grandfathered arrangements relevant to the proposed amendments.
