Sunsetting of the Telecommunications (Participating Persons) Determination 2015

ACCAN recently submitted to the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts (the Department) on its review of sunsetting the Telecommunications (Participating Persons) Determination 2015. The Determination sets an eligible revenue threshold for the Telecommunications Industry Levy (TIL) and requirements for carriers to contribute to the Annual Carrier Licence Charge.

ACCAN supports the Department making the Telecommunications (Consumer Protection and Service Standards) (Non-Participating Persons) Determination 2025 and retaining the $25 million eligible revenue threshold. ACCAN recommends the Department expand the TIL to include digital communication services as part of its ongoing universal services review.
